The International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples on 9 August is a day to promote Indigenous Peoples’ Rights

INDIGENOUS RIGHTS ARE NOT EXTREMISM! 

International Committee of Indigenous Peoples of Russia (ICIPR) and other representatives of organizations included in the list of “extremists and terrorists” by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, EXPRESS EXTREM CONCERN AND INDIGNATION at Russia’s attempt to suppress the voices of Indigenous Peoples, ethnic initiatives, national and decolonial movements for their rights.

We call on the international community, human rights structures, the UN, the Council of Europe, the Arctic Council, public organizations, and decolonial movements to condemn the decision of the Russian Ministry of Justice to include 55 organizations in the list of “extremists and terrorists,” and to support our struggle for rights of our peoples. 

Indigenous rights are not extremism!
